Rated 4 out of 5 by sarabeartx from Classic Neutral Red Lip My signature look is a bright red lip, so I consider myself a bit of an expert in this area. Dior 999 is classic and iconic for sure. Although it says it’s a blue-toned red, it doesn’t appear that way on my lips. More of a neutral red, not particularly cool or warm. The formula is a bit drying, and it doesn’t last through eating or drinking. Especially starts to crackle in the middle and corners of the mouth. With all that said, it is a nice liquid lipstick! It doesn’t transfer too much and is comfortable to wear. Washes off easily too. I don’t grab this for “on the go” because it requires precise placement to not come out looking like the Joker. If you want a more cool toned red I think the red/fuchsia color is more suited to that.

It also started to rub off after a few bites of food. While I understand that this product is transferred resistant and not transfer proof, I expected more for the price. I also find that the applicator frequently comes out dry, despite shaking the product prior to use. I’m going back to my go to drugstore brand for a fraction of the price.

However, this color is NOT a cool or blue-based red as some other reviewers claimed. It is very warm and orange and did not work on my pale, cool-toned skin.
