Directions for use

User Review without direct purchaseDial Up Or Dial Down The Level Of Toning Effect
I like this shampoo because it doesn't have all those intense dyes like a lot of other brands. I also like that this toning effect I get from this shampoo is buildable and subtle at first until I get the desired level of toning whereas some other brands can be a bit brash in their toning of the hair. This Aveda one is quite amazing in the way that I can control the level of toning and stop using it when happy with the look. I used a normal shampoo inbetween using this one to 'turn off' the toning level and then used this again when I wanted to 'turn on' the toning level. I love Aveda's natural focus and how their ingredients are good for the hair but also gentle on the environment. I also love the gentle scent of this shampoo - it's not as strong as, say, their Invati range (which I love as well by the way). It's easy to use with it's matching conditioner and I would definitely not use this shampoo without following it up with that Aveda Blonde Revival conditioner. This formula is very gentle on their hair and I expect then could be magnificent to use with dyed bleached hair because I know from my sister's bleached blonde hair that it is quite dry and brittle and could probably really benefit from a shampoo like this. My hair is natural blonde with it's classic oily roots so I found this to maybe be a little too gentle on my hair and I had to really focus on massaging this shampoo a lot into my roots. I didn't find it as beneficial for my hair as other Aveda ranges except that it dealt gently with the toining of my blonde hair. I would buy this again as I loved the low-dye and low-mess feature of this and of course it's natural ingredients. The scent is gentle in this shampoo and not as strong as some of the other Aveda ranges (which I love). I don't mind that this has a gentler scent but I also love Aveda's richer scent ranges too because I love Aveda scents.

Blonde Revival Shampoo
Smells great but...
A little disappointed with the Aveda Blonde Revival Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells great and I love that it’s sulphate free. However, it leaves my hair feeling heavy and greasy after being freshly washed and blow-dried. I also found that the toning effect was very subtle – even though I used with the Aveda Blonde Revival Conditioner as directed to harness the triple-action system for brighter results. While I have bought this product twice before, I don’t think I’ll be buying it again.
